Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ValuAid mobile application for Android (the "App"), operated by ValuAid ("ValuAid", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The service

ValuAid lets you photograph and catalogue items and receive automated, AI-generated valuations and analysis to help you decide what to do with them. The App is provided for personal, informational use.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country, to use the App. By using the App you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Your account

You sign in using Google Sign-In. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your Google credentials secure. Notify us promptly at support@valuaid.app if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the App for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms;
• upload content you do not have the right to upload, or that infringes the rights of others;
• attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape, or gain unauthorised access to the App or its systems;
• misuse the App to harass others or to upload harmful, offensive, or illegal material.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the photos and item details you add ("Your Content"). You grant ValuAid a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the App to you. You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the rights necessary to submit it.

6. AI valuations — important disclaimer

Valuations and analysis produced by the App are automated estimates generated by AI for informational purposes only. They are not professional appraisals, financial advice, or guarantees of value, authenticity, or condition. Estimates may be inaccurate or incomplete. You should not rely on them as the sole basis for any financial, legal, insurance, or sale decision, and should seek a qualified professional where appropriate. ValuAid is not responsible for decisions you make based on the App's output.

7. Intellectual property

The App, including its software, design, and the "ValuAid" name and logo, is owned by ValuAid and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

8. Third-party services

The App relies on third-party services (including Google Play, Google Sign-In, and our hosting and AI providers). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

9. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time via our account deletion page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or where required by law. On termination, the licences you grant under these Terms end, subject to our data retention practices described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that valuations will be accurate.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ValuAid will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on valuations or analysis produced by the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, where changes are significant, provide additional notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium, and disputes are subject to the competent courts of Belgium. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
